Lost

Softly treading on the breeze
Above the treetops on high
Past the wisps of cloud we ease
And see the heavens pass on by

Over the mountains
Swimming in the sea
Walking through the rain
Lost are we

Lost in those beautiful thoughts of earlier times
Lost in a maze of ‘twining deeds
Lost in the melody of sweet chimes
Lost in the rustle of dying reeds

Beyond the valleys
Into the unmeasured depths of sound
Skirting dark and dank alleys
We, alas, are found

Found in the harsh realities
Found in the throes of indecision
Found in the stark banalities
Found in the loss of regained vision

We have found that we are lost.
